Newspapers are a superb tool in the adult ESL classroom for developing language skills and orienting adult learners about the world in which they live. Habitual reading within the classroom transfers to habitual reading outside of the classroom.

Our ESL program incorporates the daily use of the Toronto Star in the ESL classroom through the use of easy-to-use activities in our teaching kits. These activities will provide adult learners with opportunities to improve their language skills in the four skill areas of reading, speaking, listening and writing. They will also increase vocabulary, develop speed-reading skills, improve cultural awareness and foster an understanding of local and global communities.
